About Clauz
Plain-English contracts for the people who have to sign them.
Understanding a business agreement shouldn’t take a law degree. Clauz reads the fine print and marks it up — so founders, freelancers, and consultants can sign, push back, or walk away knowing exactly what’s in front of them.
§ a · The deliverable
What every review includes
- A plain-English summary
- the whole agreement in a paragraph you can read in a minute.
- Risk flags, rated
- every clause that could cost you, high to low, with the reason why.
- Key terms, lifted out
- parties, dates, payment, renewal, and governing law in one place.
- Open questions
- anything missing or ambiguous — raised, not guessed at.
- Negotiation tips
- concrete asks with fallback positions for the table.
- Suggested redlines
- before/after language you can drop straight into the document.
§ b · On privacy
Your contract never leaves your hands for long
Read in memory, never stored
Your file is parsed in memory for a single review and discarded the moment it’s returned. No account, no history, no database of your contracts.
Never used for training
Uploads go only to the analysis model to produce your review. The result lives in your browser session and nowhere else.
Structured, not improvised
Every review follows the same strict structure. When the model is unsure, it raises an open question instead of guessing.
Honest about its limits
A strong first read — not a final legal opinion. For high-stakes agreements, it tells you to bring in an attorney.
§ c · What we’re not
Clauz is not a law firm. We don’t provide legal advice or create attorney-client relationships. Clauz generates insights to help you understand your agreements, but it doesn’t replace the judgment of a qualified attorney. For complex, high-stakes, or contentious agreements, have an attorney review the document.
